Drop Control Room support
Drop Control Room is operated by Dragan Arsić, Jurija Gagarina 173, 11070 Belgrade, Serbia. For help with the app, email arsicd@gmail.com.
Include your shop domain, the drop name or identifier, what you expected to happen, and what happened instead. Do not send shopper names, email addresses, or payment details.
Setting up a drop
- Install the app from the Shopify App Store and approve the requested access scopes.
- Open Drops, then New drop. Choose the product variants the drop covers and set a start time.
- Add the "Join the drop" app block to the product template, as described below.
- Open the lobby. Opening the lobby publishes the app's verification metafield and installs the cart validation rule, so checkout protection is in place before the drop starts.
- Start the drop. If readiness blocks the start, check that the block is on the product template and that the variant's Shopify stock covers the drop allocation.
Add the "Join the drop" block to your theme
The block is the shopper's entry point to a drop. It is a theme app extension, so it needs an app-block (Online Store 2.0) theme. It renders only while a drop covers the product and the drop is in the lobby or live phase, and stays hidden otherwise, so it is safe to leave installed between drops.
- In the Shopify admin, open Online Store, then Themes, then Customize.
- Open the product template that the drop's products use.
- Click Add block, then Apps, then "Join the drop".
- Keep the app proxy prefix at
/apps/drop-control. The block reads the lobby state from that path. - Save the theme.
- Repeat for every product template, and for any featured product section, that a drop's products can appear on.
If the block does not appear: confirm the product variant is selected in
the drop, confirm the drop is open in the lobby or live, confirm the
block is on the template you are viewing, and confirm the prefix is
/apps/drop-control. When a drop ends, the block hides and
checkout protection is withdrawn; the cart validation rule stays
installed and inert until the next drop.
Checkout and claims
- A shopper joins from the product page, waits for their turn, and claims one item.
- The claim is carried to the cart as a signed entry token on the line item.
- A cart validation rule blocks checkout when the cart has no valid claim for the item.
- A claim expires when its window closes. The shopper can rejoin the line for a new place.
Ending and removing
- End a drop from its control room. Checkout protection is withdrawn; the validation rule remains installed and inert.
- Uninstalling the app deletes the shop's install token immediately and keeps the remaining shop data for 48 hours so a reinstall can restore it. After that, Shopify's shop redaction request erases the shop's data.
